Dr. Jose Ramirez-Del Toro

Hi. I'm Jose. I was born in Puerto Rico and moved to North Carolina in my youth. I studied at Princeton University where I played basketball for the legendary coach Pete Carril. I then played three years professionally in the Puertorican basketball league prior to starting medical school at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in my home state of North Carolina. After graduation, I completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where I served as chief resident. After residency, I completed a one year fellowship in Sports Medicine at the New Jersey Sports Medicine Institute under the tutelage of one of the giants in the field within Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Gerard Malanga.

After completing fellowship, I have worn many hats through the past 13 years. I have served as the Director of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Sports Medicine Fellowship through the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. I have served as the Director of Sports Medicine and Head Team Physician at California University of Pennsylvania, a large NCAA Division II school in western PA. Currently, I work at South Hills Orthopedics just outside of Pittsburgh. I am married to a former NCAA Division I All American Track and Field runner and we have 2 wonderful daughters. We are involved in all kinds of athletics and outdoor activities, including skiing, hiking, tennis, resistance training, and I still dabble in a little hoops as well!

I believe in a healthy mind, a healthy body and a healthy soul. I love to teach and I also love to learn. I firmly believe the Koreaider is a one of a kind tool that can help unleash the body's true potential. The versatility of the Koreaider is unmatched in the industry. I am proud to be a part of this team, and I believe that our team can help you achieve your goals. Welcome!
